The American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division, Inc., is sponsoring a Cancer Nursing Study Grant. This funding program is designed for nurse researchers at all levels of practice. Through support of nursing research, nurses can make significant contributions to cancer nursing practice.
The purpose of this program is to encourage nurses to conduct cancer nursing studies and to improve the quality of nursing care for individuals and families affected by cancer. Emphasis for funding is being placed on new investigators and clinical practice studies.

Cancer Nursing Study is scientific investigation in the field of health or disease designed to furnish new knowledge or to provide further support for existing knowledge related to cancer nursing. This includes feasibility and pilot studies.

Cancer Nursing Study Grants are awarded by the Nursing Committee of the American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division, Inc., on the recommendation of the ad hoc committee on Nursing Study awards and will be limited to $1,000 (one thousand dollars).

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. A registered nurse
  2. Currently licensed to practice in Michigan or Indiana
  3. A resident of Michigan or Indiana
  4. Currently engaged full- or part-time in nursing

Registered Nurses who are enrolled in a baccalaureate, masters or doctoral nursing program are also eligible. The applicant shall assume responsibility for conducting the project and for supervising any associates or assistants designated in the study plan.
